🎯 Objective
Beat the dealer by getting a hand value closer to 21 without going over. If you go over 21, you "bust" and lose automatically.
🃏 Card Values
- Number Cards (2-10): Face value
- Face Cards (J, Q, K): Worth 10 points
- Ace: Worth 1 or 11 points (whichever is better for your hand)
Example: Ace + 7 = 18 (Ace counts as 11). Ace + 7 + 6 = 14 (Ace counts as 1 to avoid busting).
🎮 Game Actions
- HIT: Take another card. You can hit multiple times until you stand or bust.
- STAND: Keep your current hand and end your turn.
- DOUBLE DOWN: Double your bet and receive exactly one more card. Only available on your first two cards.
- SPLIT: If your first two cards are a pair, split them into two separate hands. Each hand requires its own bet equal to your original bet. You can split up to 4 hands total.
- INSURANCE: When the dealer shows an Ace, you can bet half your original bet. If the dealer has Blackjack, insurance pays 2:1. If not, you lose the insurance bet.
💰 Payouts
- Regular Win: 1:1 payout (bet $10, win $10, total return $20)
- Blackjack (21 with first two cards): 3:2 payout (bet $10, win $15, total return $25)
- Insurance Win: 2:1 payout (bet $5 insurance, win $10 if dealer has Blackjack)
- Push (Tie): Your bet is returned (no win, no loss)
- Dealer Bust: All remaining player hands win 1:1
🎲 Dealer Rules
- Dealer must hit on 16 or less
- Dealer must hit on soft 17 (Ace + 6 = 17, dealer hits)
- Dealer must stand on hard 17 or higher
- Dealer's first card is dealt face down until all players finish their hands
🏆 Special Rules
- Blackjack: Ace + 10-value card (10, J, Q, K) in your first two cards. Pays 3:2 and beats any dealer hand except dealer Blackjack.
- Bust: Going over 21 means you lose immediately, regardless of what the dealer has.
- Split Pairs: You can split any pair (same value cards). Aces can be split, but you only get one card per hand after splitting Aces.
- Double Down: You can double on any two cards. After doubling, you receive exactly one more card and must stand.
💡 Basic Strategy Tips
- Always stand on 17 or higher (unless dealer shows 7 or higher and you have soft 17)
- Always hit on 11 or less
- Consider the dealer's up card when making decisions
- Split pairs of Aces and 8s
- Never split pairs of 10s, 5s, or 4s
- Insurance is generally not recommended (house edge is high)
🎴 Deck Selection
You can choose to play with 1, 2, or 3 decks. More decks slightly change the odds, but the basic strategy remains the same. Choose your preference before placing your bet!
